Snow Kong (孔雪儿)

Biography

Kong Xue Er (Stage Name: Snow Kong) is a Chinese female idol. In 2012, she joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee, but she left the company in 2014. She also made it on the list as one of the possible trainees to debut in Cosmic Girls (WJSN). She is a former member of the girl group LadyBees and she is currently being managed by Mountain Top Entertainment (泰洋川禾), an entertainment company based in Beijing, China and joined her third survival show, Youth with You, which aired in March of 2020. Kong Xue Er ranked 8th and joined the final debut girl group of Youth With You which is called THE9. Snow Kong (Kong Xue'er) has redefined the path for idol-actor transitions in C-ent. A former JYP trainee and a standout member of the mega-popular girl group THE9, she chose not to rest on her idol laurels but to conquer the fiercely competitive historical drama market with brute force and relentless determination. Nicknamed the "Test-Taking Queen", she has adopted a "question bank" approach to her career, appearing in over 18 dramas—mostly supporting roles—in just three years, tirelessly "face-brushing" her way into the audience's consciousness. With a signature mix of entrancing screen presence and a dogged work ethic that saw her push through hunger by eating toothpaste during her trainee days, she has successfully weaponized her "mannequin-like beauty" into a tool to play complex, white-cut-black (seemingly innocent but actually ruthless) anti-heroines, becoming the new darling of the industry. Breakthrough Role While Kong's role as Miao Ansu in the 2024 hit Blossoms in Adversity marked a solid first step, her true breakout came in 2026 with the historical drama Splendid World [Zhuyu]. In it, she played Yu Qianqian, a traveling single mother and resourceful tavern owner caught in a game of psychological warfare with a villainous prince. Despite having only 35 minutes of total screen time as the female lead's best friend, her performance was a masterclass in character acting. Scenes depicting her maternal desperation, such as kneeling and begging to save her child, and a tense bath confrontation where the subtle trembling of her fingers went viral, moved audiences to tears. This caused the show's secondary "Buqi Eryu" CP to explode in popularity, surpassing the main couple. The role earned her over 930,000 new followers online and a 9.1 out of 10 audience rating, firmly establishing her as a new "scene-stealer" in the industry. Public Perception Snow Kong currently occupies a fascinatingly contradictory space in C-ent. On one hand, she has earned immense respect as a "rebound" success story, transforming from a heavily criticized, struggling idol actress into a respected professional in the cutthroat world of historical dramas. The public has warmly embraced her carefully cultivated image as a hard-working underdog, a dedicated actress who prepares by learning tea ceremony and abacus skills, never uses stunt doubles, and delivers her own live audio, all while reportedly paying off million-dollar debts. On the other hand, her carefully crafted appearance remains a constant topic of debate, with some detractors insisting her "static, model-like face" is ill-suited to the subtle emotional range required of acting. Yet, her growing arsenal of complex "white-cut-black" villainess roles and upcoming projects as a lead prove the industry has already voted in her favor, seeing her as an enduring and tenacious force rather than a fleeting trend.
