Plot Overview
Set in ancient China, the story follows Feng Jiaojiao (Xu Ruohan), a powerful businesswoman who dominates the Jiangnan silk industry. After her parents’ early death, she defies the societal prejudice that “women cannot control commerce” and takes over the family’s large silk business. During a商会 crisis, she encounters Sheng Linzhi (Zhou Keyu), a down-and-out nobleman from a wrongfully accused family. Recognizing his extraordinary talents in calculation and judgment, she rescues him and hires him as her advisor. What begins as a purely transactional partnership gradually deepens into love as they join forces to battle corrupt officials, break the monopoly of powerful merchants, and ultimately overturn the injustice against Sheng’s family. Together, they break class barriers, reshape the rules of commerce, and rise to the pinnacle of success.
