He Fanxing (Victoria Song) is a successful 32-year-old career woman who has never been in a relationship. After ten years of waiting for her college sweetheart’s promise, she finds out he is getting married to someone else. She is then relentlessly pursued by Yuan Song (Song Weilong), a charismatic 22-year-old intern at her company. Despite the significant 10-year age gap, she agrees to a secret three-month relationship. Their relationship is further complicated by the appearance of the mature and dependable Ye Luming (Wang Yaoqing), a 37-year-old CEO who also sets his sights on her. As He Fanxing navigates this love triangle, she must also confront societal expectations, workplace pressures, and her own fears about love and marriage.

The series has 42 episodes (approx. 45 min each). It can be broadly divided into four main story arcs:

• Act 1: A Secret Romance (Episodes 1-12 approx.): He Fanxing agrees to a secret 3-month relationship with the younger intern Yuan Song. They navigate the thrills of a clandestine office romance while keeping it hidden from colleagues and family. Meanwhile, the mature CEO Ye Luming enters her life as a "relationship mentor," but with a hidden agenda to win her over himself.
• Act 2: Growing Tensions & The Breakup (Episodes 13-22 approx.): The pressure of their secret relationship, Yuan Song's insecurity, and Ye Luming's subtle manipulations cause misunderstandings between He Fanxing and Yuan Song. Yuan Song attempts to go public with their relationship, but He Fanxing, unable to face the societal judgment, breaks up with him.
• Act 3: A New Relationship & Realizations (Episodes 23-35 approx.): Following the breakup, He Fanxing begins a relationship with the more "suitable" Ye Luming. However, she finds herself unable to fully commit to him and constantly thinks of Yuan Song. She begins to realize that her feelings for Yuan Song were genuine and that she chose Ye Luming for the wrong reasons.
• Act 4: Following Her Heart & Reconciliation (Episodes 36-42): He Fanxing breaks up with Ye Luming and decides to pursue Yuan Song. She makes a public and earnest effort to win him back. In the finale, they reconcile and get back together, with He Fanxing finally choosing to follow her heart over societal expectations.
