Signed to the esteemed agency Dong Shen Future, Lu Qi represents a new generation of actors who prioritize craft over celebrity, steadily earning his place through consistent, quality work rather than overnight fame.

Breakthrough Role Lu Qi‘s breakthrough came in 2023 with the hit CCTV youth drama Ray of Light (Zhui Guang De Ri Zi), where he portrayed Wu Kai, a high school student grappling with his identity and self-acceptance. To prepare for the emotionally demanding role, Lu returned to a real high school to immerse himself in student life — adjusting his posture, hairstyle, and even the way he carried everyday items to fully embody the character. His nuanced, heartfelt performance resonated deeply with audiences and marked a turning point in his career, bringing him widespread recognition and establishing him as a serious young actor capable of carrying complex, emotionally layered roles.

Public Perception Today, Lu Qi is widely regarded within the industry as a dedicated and quietly ambitious actor who lets his work speak for itself. He has built an impressive and steadily growing filmography that includes the period comedy My Heroic Husband (2021), the sci-fi series Martian Orphan (2021), the urban drama Hello, Sharpshooter (2022), the costume drama The Story of the Flower (2024), and the film Lone Star Project (2024). His commitment to his craft has earned him significant industry recognition, including a nomination for the prestigious “2022 Stars and Seas Young Actor Selection Program”. In 2026, he landed a lead role in the highly anticipated fantasy drama The Blossoming Dream (Meng Hua Ting), playing the pivotal character Ji Chang. Off-screen, he maintains a relatively low-key public presence, with a growing social media following of over 400,000 fans. While he has yet to achieve household-name status, Lu Qi is widely seen by audiences and industry insiders alike as a rising talent with genuine staying power — an actor whose steady, consistent rise suggests a long and promising career ahead.
