Biography

Liu Ruogu is a chameleon-like prodigy, known as the "10,000-face King" for his ability to disappear into wildly different roles. Bursting onto the scene as a child star, he captivated audiences as the cute and natural Hou Haoran in the landmark anti-corruption drama In the Name of the People at just ten years old. Now, at 18, he has carved a unique path in the industry, currently leading the pack as the top-ranked student (scoring 95.6 points) in the acting program at China's most prestigious drama school, the Central Academy of Drama. Breakthrough Role His breakthrough came in 2017 with the blockbuster series In the Name of the People. As the good-natured son of the main prosecutor Hou Liangping, Liu delivered a standout performance that made the vast audience take notice, and which earned him a tremendous fan following. By that time, he was already a veteran with a reputation as the "Childhood of Male Gods," having played younger versions of numerous leading actors in hit dramas like He is Coming, Close Your Eyes (as a young Huo Jianhua) and Swords of Legends (as a young Yang Mi). Public Perception Liu Ruogu is widely respected as a stellar, non-typical actor. His commitment to "character first" has shattered the common curse of child star stagnation. His talent has been recognized by his peers, famously collaborating three times with renowned actor Ren Jialun, who served as a witness at his 18th birthday ceremony. A dedicated "drama nerd" known for his transformative acting and total immersion into roles, Liu faces a bright future after earning the top spot at the Central Academy of Drama, poised to prove that an actor with the right skills, dedication, and passion can achieve far more than a pretty face alone ever could.
