You Are My Lover Friend (舍不得星星)
Plot Overview
Tang Yang (played by Wang Yuwen) and Jiang Shiyan (played by Zhang Xincheng) were high school classmates who formed a deep, sibling-like bond during their teenage years. Now, over a decade later, they are both fully immersed in their respective careers. Tang Yang works as the Deputy Director of the Credit Audit Division at Huishang Bank, while Jiang Shiyan is the CEO and founder of a successful food media company, Yi Xiu Gourmet.
When Tang Yang is transferred back to her hometown of Rongcheng to work at the local branch, she faces immediate hostility from her superior, Director Gan Yiming, who repeatedly tries to undermine her work. Despite this, she takes a stand by approving a small loan for a family business named "Zhi Lan Xiao Lu," determined to do what is right.
Watching from the sidelines, Jiang Shiyan uses the influence of his food media empire to support her in secret. His feelings of protectiveness grow, and he soon realizes that his long-standing care for her might be more than just friendship. When Director Gan attempts to harass Tang Yang under the pretense of intoxication, Jiang Shiyan steps in, violently confronting him. This event shatters the facade of their "sibling" dynamic, forcing them both to confront romantic feelings they have suppressed for years.
Through trials at work, chaotic group dates, a sudden hospitalization, and a high-stakes corporate conspiracy involving the Jiujiang Group, the pair must navigate the delicate and often hilarious process of transitioning from best friends to lovers. The story is a heartwarming, comedic, and genuine look at the idea that sometimes, the person you are destined to spend your life with has been right by your side all along.
