Thinking of You in the Long Night (长夜无眠尽相思)

Thinking of You in the Long Night is a 2025 Chinese historical short drama. Empress Shen Yuning is newly married when Emperor Yan Junmo dies in battle. To protect his unborn child, she agrees to a divorce from her deceased husband and marries his younger brother, the new Emperor Yan Junxing, becoming empress for a second time. Seven years later, Yan Junmo returns—alive—leading an army and demanding her return. The story follows Shen Yuning as she is torn between two emperors and forced to make an impossible choice.

The 74-episode series can be broadly divided into the following main arcs:

• Act 1: Death and Remarriage (Episodes 1–18 approx.): Emperor Yan Junmo dies on the battlefield. To protect his unborn child, Empress Shen Yuning agrees to divorce him posthumously and remarries his younger brother, the new Emperor Yan Junxing.
• Act 2: Seven Years of Peace (Episodes 19–36 approx.): Shen Yuning settles into her role as empress to Yan Junxing. Years pass, and she builds a new life, though the memory of her first husband lingers.
• Act 3: The Return (Episodes 37–55 approx.): Yan Junmo returns—alive and at the head of an army. He demands that Shen Yuning come back to him, throwing the court and her heart into chaos.
• Act 4: The Impossible Choice (Episodes 56–74): Shen Yuning is torn between her two husbands. She must make a final, fateful decision that will determine the future of the dynasty and her own happiness.
