Shine on Me (骄阳似我)

Nie Xiguang (played by Zhao Jinmai) is a lively, cheerful university student who appears to be an ordinary girl but is secretly a low-key heiress to a vast fortune. During her university days, she experiences the sweet yet painful throes of secret love for Zhuang Xu (played by Lai Weiming), a brilliant yet impoverished academic star whose cold arrogance masks a deep inferiority complex.

After an unrequited love that crumbles under misunderstandings and unspoken truths, Nie Xiguang graduates and intentionally hides her identity to join her family's photovoltaic (solar energy) company from the ground up as an ordinary employee. There she crosses paths with Lin Yusen (played by Song Weilong), a former top surgeon who was forced to leave medicine after a devastating car accident and has since transitioned into a ruthless corporate executive.

What begins as a workplace full of misunderstandings and the sharp-tongued banter of destined rivals gradually deepens into something far more profound. As the two navigate corporate intrigue, personal trauma, and the ghosts of first love that still linger, the story becomes a journey of mutual healing. Lin Yusen, initially bitter and aloof, learns to live again; Nie Xiguang, always underestimated as a "small sun," finds her own strength and purpose. 

The 36-episode series is divided into three major story arcs. It is structured to follow two parallel love lines—a past university "campus" romance and a present "workplace" romance—between the same female lead and two very different men. The heroine goes from being a woman without her own career ambitions to a mature career woman and eventual leader of the family business. At the same time, the male lead goes from being a cold, misunderstood boss to a warm, sacrificial lover, all while healing from his career-ending trauma.

Arc 1: Unspoken First Love — Campus Days and Crushing Regret (Episodes 1–8)

Synopsis In this arc, we see a younger Nie Xiguang navigating the confusing and awkward world of first love. She is drawn to the brilliant but aloof university scholarship student, Zhuang Xu, who becomes her private tutor under her father's arrangement. But social status, family secrets, and the interference of a competitive classmate, Ye Rong, create a wall of misunderstandings between them. This arc is marked by a "will-they-won't-they" tension with a tragic slant, culminating in the loss of her first love without a proper conclusion. At the same time, a shocking accident sets the stage for the present day: the brilliant surgeon Lin Yusen suffers a terrible car accident that not only ends his career but also ties his fate to Nie Xiguang's. She has no idea that he was the surgeon who was crippled in the car accident, and he has no idea that she is the heiress who was supposed to be his blind date. • The Dormitory Rebel: When the dormitory management is rigged by a corrupt department head to favor his relatives, Nie Xiguang bravely stands up to the system and reports it directly to Lin Yusen—the one person everyone fears. Her boldness surprises him. 
• The Picnic: On a weekend trip, the group discovers a massive inconsistency in a company's financial data, hinting at a larger, darker scheme.
• The Memory: Nie Xiguang sees an old photograph of Lin Yusen in his white doctor's coat. Realizing he used to be a medical genius, she feels a pang of unexpected sorrow for him, marking the first time she sees him as more than just a tyrant. Now, they must work together against the backdrop of Zhuang Xu's return to the company as a rival banker. This arc is about healing. Lin Yusen must make a choice between continuing his corporate career or returning to his original calling: medicine. At the same time, Nie Xiguang must shed her carefree persona and accept her role as the true heiress of the company, using her "sunshine" to guide the company out of a dark financial crisis.
