• Adapted from the novel Lighter and Princess Dress by Twentine, Lighter and Princess follows the tumultuous romance between Li Xun, a rebellious and gifted programming prodigy, and Zhu Yun, a studious and resilient overachiever. Their worlds collide when Li Xun turns her predictable university life upside down. What begins as fierce rivalry soon deepens into a bond that navigates the cutthroat competition of college and the harsh realities of the business world. The story charts their journey from spirited youth to responsible adulthood, testing whether their love can survive ambition, betrayal, and the weight of the past.

With 36 episodes (approx. 45 min each), the story can be divided into four main parts as follows:

• Act 1 – Sparks and Ambition (Episodes 1-12): Li Xun, a defiant coding genius, and Zhu Yun, a top student from a privileged family, clash when she mistakes him for a slacker. This rivalry evolves into mutual respect and attraction. Li Xun invites her to join his team for a programming competition, creating tension with rival classmate Gao Jianhong, and their relationship deepens, culminating in a kiss. This act ends with the team winning the competition, bringing a moment of triumph.
• Act 2 – Heartbreak and Fallout (Episodes 13-18): The consequences of Li Xun’s past actions come to a head. When Fang Zhijing threatens to expose crucial secret information, Li Xun brutally and publicly breaks up with Zhu Yun to protect her. Shortly after, a confrontation with his half-brother leads to Li Xun being sent to prison, causing a significant emotional and physical separation between the two leads.
• Act 3 – Reunited and Rebuilt (Episodes 19-33): After three years, a time jump follows Li Xun's release from prison. A vengeful Gao Jianhong sabotages his attempts to find work, forcing Li Xun to start from the bottom. In a climactic public showdown at an industry conference, they expose Gao Jianhong’s long-hidden theft and betrayal. True justice is served when a reformed Gao Jianhong testifies against Li Xun’s brother for his crimes, leading to his arrest. The series ends with a flash-forward to a happy, quiet family life for Li Xun and Zhu Yun, a poignant callback to a promise made in their youth.
