Gu Jinyun, a mysterious and wealthy businessman, crosses paths with the independent and headstrong Ruan Qing when their lives are unexpectedly intertwined. A forced marriage of convenience is arranged, and Ruan Qing soon discovers she is pregnant. Initially bound by a contract and mutual suspicion, they must learn to navigate their complicated arrangement as they share a roof. As they face external threats, family conspiracies, and the everyday challenges of impending parenthood, their transactional relationship slowly evolves into a genuine partnership—and eventually, a deep and abiding love.

The 30-episode series (approx. 45 min each) can be broadly divided into four main story arcs:

• Act 1: An Unexpected Arrangement (Episodes 1-8): Ruan Qing is coerced into a contract marriage with the elusive businessman Gu Jinyun. The two coldly cohabitate as strangers, suspicious of each other's motives. Just as they begin to establish an uneasy truce, Ruan Qing discovers she is pregnant, forcing them to reassess their relationship.
• Act 2: Learning to Trust (Episodes 9-16): As Ruan Qing's pregnancy progresses, Gu Jinyun's initially distant demeanor begins to thaw. He starts to care for her and protect her from growing dangers, including threats from his business rivals and his own scheming family. The pair begin to show genuine care for one another, slowly building a foundation of trust.
• Act 3: Growing Threats & Hidden Truths (Episodes 17-23): The external dangers intensify as enemies close in on Gu Jinyun's empire. Ruan Qing is caught in the crossfire, and she discovers long-hidden secrets about his past. Their fragile bond is tested as they are forced to make sacrifices and fight to protect their family.
• Act 4: A United Front & Happy Ending (Episodes 24-30): Facing their greatest crisis yet, Gu Jinyun and Ruan Qing finally cast aside all pretenses and stand together as a true team. They overcome the final obstacles and eliminate the threats to their family. Having proven their love and loyalty to each other, they are finally able to embrace their future together as a happy family.
