Plot Overview

Go Go Squid! is a Chinese e-sport romance comedy television series adapted from Mo Bao Fei Bao's novel "Honey Stewed Squid." The series follows Tong Nian (Yang Zi), a 19-year-old genius computer science major and popular online singer, who falls in love at first sight with Han Shangyan (Li Xian). Han Shangyan is a former cybersecurity prodigy and legendary professional gamer who now dedicates his life to training his team, K&K, to win a world championship for China. As Tong Nian persistently pursues Han Shangyan, her warmth, support, and understanding slowly help him heal old wounds and open his heart. Together, they support each other's dreams, and in the end, Han Shangyan leads his team to achieve their championship dream and win glory for their country.

Tong Nian’s unwavering support helps Han Shangyan confront his past and reconcile with old friends.
  • Act 3: Achieving Dreams & Solidifying Their Bond (Episodes 27-36): Han Shangyan’s team, K&K, enters major international cybersecurity competitions. Tong Nian, inspired by Han, rejoins her school team to participate in the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest. As they navigate their separate but parallel journeys toward excellence, their relationship grows stronger and more mature.
  • Act 4: World Championship & A Happy Ending (Episodes 37-41): In the final episodes, K&K competes for the world championship. Han Shangyan leads his team to victory, achieving his long-held dream of winning the title for China. In Episode 41, Han Shangyan formally asks Tong Nian’s parents for her hand in marriage, and the couple looks forward to their happy future together.
