Camellia in Bloom (肆零肆：山茶花会开)

Set against the backdrop of a bar named “404,” the story unfolds across three timelines—2007, 2015, and 2024. In the winter of 2007, Jiang Ting (Tan Yanyan), whose father is battling cancer, meets Zhao Yanqing (Wang Haozhen), the son of her father’s employer. From that moment, a deep connection is forged. Zhao Yanqing quietly supports her from behind the scenes, never crossing the line, while Jiang Ting works her way from a poor student to a career professional. Over more than a decade, they repeatedly cross paths, navigating misunderstandings, restraint, and personal growth. After years of silent devotion, they finally break through the barriers of status, gossip, and distance to confess their love. The series also follows two other couples whose stories intertwine at the same 404 bar.

The 83-episode series (approx. 2–3 minutes each) can be broadly divided into four main story arcs:

• Act 1: The First Encounter & Silent Support (Episodes 1-20 approx.): In the winter of 2007, Jiang Ting meets Zhao Yanqing during her father’s illness. He begins to quietly support her from behind the scenes, never overstepping boundaries. Their connection is established, but they remain restrained.
• Act 2: Growing Apart & Chasing Dreams (Episodes 21-40 approx.): Jiang Ting works hard to join Zhao Yanqing’s company. As she transforms from a struggling student into a capable professional, they cross paths repeatedly. Misunderstandings and the gap in their social status keep them apart.
• Act 3: Longing & Restraint (Episodes 41-60 approx.): Zhao Yanqing continues his “non-intrusive companionship,” offering key support during Jiang Ting’s lowest moments but never asking for anything in return. Their feelings deepen, but both remain克制, with Zhao Yanqing’s sixteen years of unspoken love hanging in the air.
• Act 4: Breaking Through & Confession (Episodes 61-83): After more than a decade of silent devotion, they finally break through the barriers of status, gossip, and distance. In a moment of mutual understanding, they confess their feelings, unlocking a love that is pure, equal, and enduring.
