Are You The One (柳舟记)

Adapted from the novel Jiao Cang by Kuang Shang Kuang Jia, the story follows Liu Miantang, the clever and decisive female leader of Yangshan bandits, and Cui Xingzhou, the Prince of Huaiyang tasked with eliminating bandits. After being severely injured in battle, Liu Miantang loses her memory. She is rescued by Cui Xingzhou, who is posing as her husband "Cui Jiu." He goes along with her mistaken identity in hopes of capturing the remaining bandits. As they live together as a fake couple, he finds himself falling for her courage and intelligence. Eventually, Liu Miantang regains her memory and the truth is exposed. After overcoming the crisis in their relationship, they join forces to help the prince eliminate rebels, stabilize the court, and protect their homeland, ultimately finding true love and a shared future.

The 40-episode series (≈45 min each) can be roughly divided into four main arcs:

• Act 1: Mistaken Identity & Fake Marriage (Episodes 1-12): Amnesiac Liu Miantang mistakes Cui Xingzhou for her husband "Cui Jiu." He plays along as a mediocre porcelain merchant. As they begin their married life, Liu Miantang uses her business acumen to build a family fortune, while feelings quietly develop between them.
• Act 2: Budding Romance & Impending Danger (Episodes 13-16): Their feelings grow deeper, but Cui Xingzhou faces pressure to marry another woman. Liu Miantang begins to suspect his true identity. Tensions rise from both the court and the underworld.
• Act 3: Memory Returns & Masks Fall (Episodes 17-23): In episode 17, Liu Miantang’s memory starts returning. She gradually recalls her past as the bandit leader. In episode 23 (the waterfall scene), both of their true identities are fully exposed, leading to a major crisis of trust.
• Act 4: Reunion & Protecting the Realm (Episodes 24-40): They confront each other honestly and re-evaluate their relationship. Around episode 31, they officially marry. Together they face political conspiracies and military crises, helping the prince eliminate rebels and bring stability to the country, ultimately achieving a happy ending.
