Plot Overview
As an atonement for a catastrophic mistake he made as a teenager, Han Jie is forced to become a divine agent (Ji Shen) for the deity the Third Crown Prince (Nezha). Bound to serve, his mission is to battle vengeful spirits and solve supernatural cases in the mortal realm. Reluctantly partnered with a determined, ill-stricken university student Ye Zi and a sharp-eyed police officer Zhang Min, he must confront a rising dark force led by the mysterious demon king Liu Fan and his followers, who are plotting to bring chaos to the human world.

The 8-episode series can be broadly divided into the following four story arcs:
- Act 1: Reluctant Redemption (Episodes 1-2): Han Jie is forced to investigate a haunting case for the desperate Ye Zi. His initial apathy is challenged as he discovers that the haunting is a man-made plot, establishing the series' theme that humans can be more malicious than ghosts.

- Act 4: Divine Confrontation (Episodes 7-8): The final confrontation erupts as Liu Fan's resurrection nears completion. Han Jie must make the ultimate choice to protect the human world, leading to a spectacular final battle that tests his faith, strength, and the meaning of his redemption.
