Sammo Hung is revered as the indisputable “Big Brother” (Da Ge Da) of Hong Kong cinema — a title earned not through a single role, but through a seven-decade career as an actor, director, action choreographer, and producer. As a pioneer who popularized kung-fu comedies, created the horror-kung fu genre, and led the legendary “Seven Little Fortunes” opera troupe (which included Jackie Chan), Hung’s influence shaped the very DNA of Hong Kong action cinema.
